In October, rumors already claimed that Samsung's annual Unpacked event to unveil the new Galaxy S24s would take place earlier than usual, on January 18. Korean media The Elec recently confirmed these rumors, specifying that the announcement will be made on January 17, significantly earlier than February 1 for the 2023 edition.

Samsung Galaxy S24 smartphones can be reserved from January 18, for delivery between January 26 and 30. For comparison, the S23 series went on sale on February 17, 2023. Samsung is purposely bringing forward this release date in order to improve its revenue for the first quarter of the year.

Also note that the event should take place in San Jose, California, where it usually takes place in New York. A way to get closer to partner Google, but also to tickle competitor Apple.
