Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Thinner, lighter, stronger

In addition to the Galaxy Z Flip 7 clamshell model (see our Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 news, screens are no longer a joke), the Korean manufacturer Samsung presented its other foldable smartphone a few days ago, the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Samsung's new Galaxy Z Fold 7 foldable smartphone was unveiled on July 9th at the manufacturer's Unpacked event in New York. Here's a look.

We start with the highlights of a thinner, lighter, and more durable device. At 8.9mm thick when folded, the Fold 7 holds its own against the best Chinese models in the same genre, and impresses with its 4.2mm thinness when unfolded. Also, at 215g on the scale, this smartphone is the lightest in its category.

The new Armor FlexHinge hinge with multi-rail design allows for smoother folding/unfolding and greater strength. Still solid with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 which now protects the back of the device, while the front benefits from a Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 coating. The case, Samsung's most robust so far and in the vein of the S25 series, is made of hyper-resistant Armor Aluminum alloy.
