Furiosa, first trailer that really makes you want it!

Warner Bros. Pictures has officially released the first trailer for Furiosa: a Mad Max Saga. The film, directed by George Miller, is a prequel to 2015's Mad Max: Fury Road, and the first images are crazy.

Rhythm, atmosphere, actors, photography, direction... Furiosa immediately brings back the Mad Max Fury Road of 2015 with an epic scale (ah that tank...) which suggests a sort of furious, modern and post-apocalyptic Ben-Hur .

It's quite simple, there is more scale and cinema in this Furiosa trailer than in the entire Fast & Furious franchise. In this new film in the Mad Max saga, Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen's Gambit) plays a younger version of the character Furiosa, played at the time by Charlize Theron.

Furiosa, technically already at the top of her game

The official synopsis states: “As the world crumbles, young Furiosa falls into the hands of a horde of bikers led by the warlord Dementus. Crossing the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by Immortan Joe. As the two tyrants fight for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials to find a way home."

Chris Hemsworth and Tom Burke are newcomers to the franchise, while ex- Fury Road stars Nathan Jones and Angus Sampson will reprise their roles as Rictus Erectus and The Organic Mechanic respectively.

Also note that several members of the Fury Road team are back at work in Furiosa (which already seems technically at the top of its game), notably screenwriter Lathouris, editor Margaret Sixel, costume designer Jenny Beavan and composer Tom Holkenborg. Filming, which took place at the end of 2022 in Australia, is considered the largest film production in the country's history with a total budget of $233 million. Furiosa is due to be released in theaters in France on May 22, 2024. We can't wait!
