Samsung Micro LED RGB 115" TV confirmed!

Last April, we relayed information from our colleagues at the South Korean daily The Elec concerning the arrival of a 115" (292 cm) Micro LED RGB TV in the Samsung catalog in 2025. While the June deadline was then mentioned, the Korean manufacturer took more time and officially announced such a model yesterday.

Unveiled as a prototype at the CES show in Las Vegas last January, the Samsung 98" (249 cm) [abc]Ultra HD[/abc] [abc]8K[/abc] Micro LED [abc]RGB[/abc] TV is now a reality, but in 115" and [abc]Ultra HD[/abc] [abc]4K[/abc], in South Korea and the United States.

The Samsung Micro LED RGB TV backlight system is based on [abc]LEDs[/abc] of microscopic size (less than 100 µm, or 0.1 mm, hence the name used by Samsung. However, this has nothing to do with the technology of the Micro LED screens exhibited by the brand on its stands for many years now, based on self-emissive Micro LED technology and whose mass production is still not on the agenda, see The Wall model in 2018). The screen is controlled by the Micro RGB AI engine developed by Samsung engineers to optimize colors in real time according to the video content. Precision, the [abc]LCD[/abc] 144 Hz panel is equipped with the excellent latest generation Glare Free 2.0 anti-reflective coating, identical to that present on the Samsung S95F Oled TVs (click to discover the full test of the Samsung TQ55S95F model by the AVcesar editorial team).

The Micro LED RGB specimen also includes Samsung's AI Upscaling Pro technology to convert content to UHD 4K if necessary. Also on the menu is the Samsung Micro RGB AI chip equipped with an NPU twice as powerful, a 15% faster processor and a GPU 2.1 times faster. We also find the AI Motion Enhancer Pro and Micro RGB Color Booster Pro algorithms (to reproduce rich colors thanks to scene-by-scene recognition). HDR processing is provided by the Micro RGB HDR+ process. Of course, this Micro LED RGB TV is HDR10+ Adaptive and HDR10+ Gaming certified. In terms of sound, we note a 4.2.2 channel equipment with a total power of 70 W RMS and Dolby Atmos compatible. Likewise, the audio section benefits, in bulk, from the 360 Audio (for Galaxy Buds), Active Voice Amplifier Pro, Adaptive Sound Pro, Object Tracking Sound+ and Q-Symphony (with Dolby Atmos wireless) functions. And the TV can be directly controlled by voice.

Samsung Micro LED RGB TV, Smart TV interface££££

As expected, the Samsung Micro LED RGB TV features the Tizen OS operating system which will benefit from updates for at least the next seven years (see our Samsung Smart TV news, 7 years of Tizen updates guaranteed). We therefore find Art Mode, the Art Store, Bixby, the Daily Board, the Google Assistant, Samsung Daily+, Samsung Health, Samsung TV Plus, SmartThings Hub (with Matter controller), Karaoke Mode and the MultiView functionality. Finally, the Search by Click and Live Translate functions are of course included.

Samsung Micro LED RGB TV, connections and connectivity££££

As usual on Samsung broadcasters, there are four [abc]HDMI[/abc] 2.1 ports (including one with [abc]eARC[/abc]), two [abc]USB[/abc] Type-A ports, an [abc]Ethernet[/abc] port and an [abc]optical[/abc] audio output. Good news for gaming fans, VRR, ALLM, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, dynamic black equalizer, Mini Map zoom, Samsung Gaming Hub and Super Ultra Wide Game View mode are all part of the package. And if you have Philips Hue lights, after purchasing the app of the same name, the TV can dynamically change the colors of these lights according to the content on the screen for a more immersive gaming environment, and thus recreate a similar Philips Ambilight system.

Connectivity of the Samsung Micro LED RGB TV includes Wi-Fi 5, AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth 5.3

In the words of Taeyong Son, Executive Vice President and Head of Visual Display (VD) R&D Team at Samsung Electronics££££

Taeyong Son, Executive Vice President and Head of Visual Display (VD) R&D Team at Samsung Electronics, said: "Micro RGB delivers unprecedented precision in controlling micron-sized RGB LEDs, elevating the color accuracy and contrast of consumer displays. With this launch, we are setting a new benchmark in the ultra-premium large format TV market and reinforcing our commitment to next-generation display innovation."

Last clarification, the 110" Micro LED RGB TV mentioned a few days ago in our columns and expected at the IFA show in Berlin which will open its doors in three weeks (see our news IFA 25 > Samsung 110" Micro LED RGB TV at the IFA show in Berlin?) is undoubtedly none other (barring any surprises) than this 115" model confirmed by Samsung.
