At the beginning of the year, Apple promised a $500 billion investment in the United States over four years. This figure was recently increased to $600 billion amid increased tariffs, announced on August 6 by Donald Trump and Apple CEO Tim Cook.

“Today, we are proud to increase our investment in the United States to $600 billion over four years and launch our new American Made Program,” said Tim Cook. “It includes new partnerships and expanded collaboration with 10 companies across America. They produce components used in Apple products sold around the world, and we are grateful to the President for his support.” This is a further step towards the "made in USA" iPhone that Donald Trump wants, even though today the majority of the iPhone's components come from other countries and its assembly is still carried out in China. However, these efforts were welcomed by the American president.

"Apple makes a lot of components here, we've talked about it," Trump said about the difficulties encountered by Apple and its boss Tim Cook in bringing final assembly back to the United States. But I think we might be able to give them enough incentive to get there one day. Look, they're not making this kind of investment anywhere else in the world, nothing comparable," regarding Tim Cook's efforts.
