iPhone 16 Pro Max, 384 times more powerful than the original model

Technology is evolving very quickly and the iPhone revolution of 2007 no longer holds up to the power of current models.

In June 2007, the very first iPhone was released, a device that revolutionized the mobile phone market, establishing the era of the smartphone in which we are still completely immersed.

A little technological gem at the time, this iPhone is however largely outdated today, a witness to the crazy speed at which technology has evolved in recent years. A few small figures to illustrate this state of affairs, starting with the battery with a capacity of 1,400 mAh on the original iPhone, compared to 4,685 mAh on the best most recent model, namely the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Where the entire iPhone 16 range benefits from 8 GB of RAM, the first model only needed 128 MB to operate, i.e. 64 times less. On the camera side, a single 2 Mpxls sensor was already a lot, but ridiculous compared to the triple 48, 12 + 12 Mpxls module of the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Finally, we must mention the heart of the matter, the main processor, with a 412 MHz ARM11 specimen for the 2007 iPhone. Today, it is estimated that the iPhone 16 Pro Max offers a performance 384.8 times more powerful than the original model. And with the chip of the iPhone 17 Pro Max using TSMC's third-generation 3 nm engraving process, we could achieve 500 times more in terms of performance, at least.
