Saltburn, the dark and sexy nugget from Prime Video

We owe him the (Oscar-winning) screenplay for Promising Young Woman. The British Emerald Fennell, seen in the series Call the Midwife, returns in an intriguing film that she wrote and directed, Saltburn, the trailer for which has just been revealed by Prime Video.

Co-produced by Margot Robbie (Barbie) and led by Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi, Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant, Alison Oliver, Archie Madekwe and Carey Mulligan (already starring in Promising Young Woman), Saltburn seems to tick all the boxes the spaces left vacant by the well-calibrated streaming productions of the moment, with sulphurous and decadent characters, all cradled in a very cinematic gothic atmosphere immediately exerting a strong power of attraction.

A burning summer

A dark tale of privilege and desire, Saltburn tells how a student played by Barry Keoghan, who struggles to find his place at Oxford University, finds himself drawn into the world of Felix Catton (Jacob Elordi), son of an eccentric aristocratic family living on the Saltburn estate…

Broadcast on November 24 on Prime Video in France.
