USB-C, not for all AirPods

iPhones are not the only ones to abandon the Lightning format for USB-C. AirPods Pro headphones should also benefit. But what about AirPods and AirPods Max?

At the Reveal event on September 12, Apple is expected to showcase the new iPhone 15s equipped with USB-C ports for the first time. And if Bloomberg's latest indiscretions are to be believed, the first USB-C AirPods will also be revealed.

USB-C reserved for AirPods Pro in 2023

More precisely, it is the AirPods Pro which will thus be equipped on their charging case. For “non-Pro” AirPods and AirPods Max headsets, we will have to wait until 2024, Bloomberg sources say. In addition, know that these new AirPods Pro will not have any hardware differences with current models, except for the new port of course.

Adaptive noise reduction on the way

However, future software updates will bring new functions such as Adaptive mode which automatically adapts the level of noise cancellation depending on the environment in which the user is immersed.
