He turns his Switch into an iPhone (or almost)

A technical feat that wasn't really useful, but was fun, for this technician who managed to get the iOS system running on a Nintendo Switch console.

A certain PatRyk on X recently accomplished a technical feat by running the iPhone's iOS operating system on a Nintendo Switch console.

iOS on Nintendo Switch, the slowest iPhone in the world…££££

It took two full days to complete this port and thus create "the slowest iPhone in the world" to use the words of its author. Indeed, it is more a question of having taken up a technical challenge than of providing a practical solution, since this technological Frankenstein takes up to 20 minutes to start and crashes as soon as an application is launched.

The feat is therefore above all to have succeeded in manipulating Apple's very closed system, the manufacturer being known for integrating extremely strict security. The feasibility was, however, within reach, knowing that the Switch's processor is an nVidia Tegra X1 specimen close to that of a smartphone and even capable of running the Android system with a little tinkering.
