Apple buys Perplexity?

Lagging behind in the field of artificial intelligence, Apple could acquire the start-up Perplexity AI, creator of the excellent search engine of the same name.

Usually ahead of the competition, Apple has literally missed the AI train, giving a clear advantage to its rivals Google and Samsung. In the hope of catching up, the company is reportedly planning to buy Perplexity AI (also known as Perplexity), and therefore the search engine of the same name, which is very effective and much less deceptive than ChatGPT.

Perplexity to replace Google at Apple?££££

This is what Bloomberg reports, adding that Perplexity is not aware of Apple's plans, even if the company is not surprised, aware of the performance of its product. The acquisition, however, depends on the agreement that exists between Google and Apple, knowing that the default search engine on Apple's Safari browser is Google. An agreement that could be undermined by the anti-competition procedure currently affecting Google.

If the two companies were to split, Perplexity could become Apple's default search engine. It would also provide a small boost to the AI features that Apple is still struggling to deliver to the public.
