AMD GPU for PS6 and new Xbox in 2027

News on next-gen consoles, with technical details that promise unprecedented graphical performance.

Known for his reliability when it comes to rumors about semiconductor manufacturers nVidia and AMD, KeplerL2 on the Neogaf forum has released new information about the future PlayStation 6 and Xbox consoles.

We thus learn that the two machines would be launched in 2027 and that they would share the same graphics technology, namely a UDNA graphics processing unit (GPU) signed by AMD, codenamed "gfx13". To be precise, UDNA is the architecture that will follow RDNA 4, which is found in the Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9060 PC graphics cards. For reference, the current PS5 and Xbox Series use RDNA 2 GPUs.

Concretely, this processor should provide 20% more speed on traditional graphics rendering, and twice the speed for AI and Ray Tracing operations.
