The French manufacturer is expanding its range of Borea passive speakers, including six models with two Borea Active references, the Triangle BR02 BT and BR03 BT, two-way amplified bass-reflex specimens.
Triangle Borea Active BR02 BT and BR03 BT, main specifications
To summarise, these incorporate most of the technical specifications of “classic” (passive) speakers but include amplification, connectivity and Bluetooth network functionality. Thus, all you have to do is connect the sound source directly to the speakers, plug them into a power outlet and that's it. And to make listening even easier, Bluetooth 5.0 APT-X compatibility lets you enjoy your favorite music tracks via streaming from a suitable device (smartphone, tablet, computer, game console, etc.).
On the amplification side, the Triangle Borea Active BR02 BT deliver a power of 2 x 50 W, 2 x 60 W for the Triangle BR03 BT. In terms of connectivity, both are ready for all configurations. Judge for yourself, it has an RCA stereo input, a 3.5 mm mini-jack auxiliary, an optical, a coaxial and a Phono input. Without forgetting an LFE output.
Triangle Borea Active BR02 BT and BR03 BT, EFS tweeter
The Triangle BR02 BT and BR03 BT benefit from the passive Borea tweeter, i.e. equipped with the EFS (Efficient Flow System) system. It consists of a 25 mm silk dome surmounted by a phase adjustment piece, specifically developed to homogenize the diffusion of high frequencies. The result is noticeably less directivity, regardless of where the listener is located in the room.
Similarly, the loudspeaker membrane is placed within a horn primer (see photo below) in order to limit edge effects and thus preserve clarity.
Triangle Borea Active BR02 BT and BR03 BT, 100% cellulose mid-boomer
For its part, the midrange-boomer loudspeaker, 16.5 cm on the BR03 BT and 13 cm on the BR02BT, is structured around a membrane made of 100% natural cellulose (paper) pulp. The profile of the cone has received special treatment to reinforce its rigidity and improve its frequency response.

Under the acronym DVAS (Driver Vibration Absorption System) hides a completely reworked cabinetwork with cutouts intended to accommodate additional internal reinforcements. These, carefully placed, make it possible to considerably reinforce the body to eliminate parasitic vibrations.
Last details, the Triangle Borea Active are delivered with a remote control, a 3 m OFC copper speaker cable to connect the two speakers together, a power cord and eight non-slip studs to decouple the speakers. Also, optional high stands (positioning of the loudspeakers at ear level), S01, S02 and S04, are available in black or white.
