If the iPhone 18 Pro/Pro Max and the foldable iPhone Duo were the stars of Apple’s latest conference, the manufacturer nevertheless presented a few other products, among them the 5th-generation AirPods.
Apple AirPods 5: two versions, including one with a wireless case
As usual, two versions are offered, the more expensive one being called “AirPods 5 with wireless charging case.” And as its name suggests, it includes a case compatible with… wireless charging (Qi standard). It also stands out for its greater battery life (up to 22 hours, taking into account case charges), and the ability to adjust the volume by swiping a finger directly on the stem of the earbuds.

The base version is not left by the wayside either. For the first time on an entry-level model, it features active noise cancellation. A much-loved feature that is now present on both models, further improved compared with the previous generation, with 50% less external noise.

It also features an updated acoustic architecture, as well as adaptive equalization, for richer, more detailed sound. Transparency mode has also been improved, and adaptive audio is present on both models. Finally, the earbuds take a software leap with the arrival of instant translation, which nevertheless requires pairing with an iPhone with Apple Intelligence functionality built in.
