Expected to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of Apple’s famous smartphone in 2027, the iPhone XX (suspected name) continues to fuel the rumor mill. Recent leaks now reveal the screen resolutions of this very special commemorative edition, which we already know could feature the largest diagonal ever integrated into an iPhone.
The 2027 iPhone XX will be equipped with an exceptional edge-to-edge display, rumors have said for many months. It is also known that it will come in two versions, for two different sizes, and with the largest dimensions ever seen on an iPhone.
Up to 7" for the Max model
The larger of the two models would be equipped with a 6.96" display (rounded to 7", equivalent to 17.78 cm), the largest diagonal ever seen on an iPhone, and the Chinese "leaker" Digital Chat Station recently specified the expected resolution: 2,912 × 1,340 pixels. The smaller of the two iPhone XX models would have a 6.41" display (16.28 cm) with a resolution of 2,686 × 1,236 pixels.
Wraparound display and preserved pixel density
A quick calculation shows that the pixel density is thus the same as for the iPhone 18 Pro (about 460 ppi). The source also reiterates the much-anticipated possibility of a wraparound display design around the edges of the device, reinforcing the decidedly futuristic look of this special anniversary edition.
