Did you know? On September 22, it's Hobbit Day for fans of Middle-earth. Warner Bros. needed no more than that to do a little promotion for its upcoming feature film set in the universe of The Lord of the Rings, namely The Hunt for Gollum. Filming having just begun, there is not much concrete to sink our teeth into, but nostalgics of the Shire (or THE Shire according to the latest literal translation, or The Shire for purists) should be satisfied.
The Story of a Round Trip
The film directed by Andy Serkis, who will also reprise his role as Gollum, hunted by Gandalf (Ian McKellen), Aragorn (James Dorman) and the forces of Evil, will unsurprisingly make a detour through the region of the Hobbits, since Frodo (Elijah Wood) will also be back. The first images therefore show us photos from the shoot with extras (or characters?), and possibly Frodo from behind. There is still no sign of the characters played by Lee Pace, Anya Taylor-Joy, Kate Winslet and Leo Woodall.
Release scheduled for December 15, 2027.
