The Star Wars film Jabba the Hutt by Guillermo del Toro… that you will never see

In an alternative universe, a Star Wars film directed by Guillermo del Toro could have seen the light of day.

During an interview with Josh Horowitz, screenwriter David Goyer (Batman Begins, Flashforward) revealed that he had started writing a Star Wars film which should have been directed by Guillermo del Toro (The Devil's Backbone, Pacific Rim).

Statements quickly confirmed by the person concerned on X, who also suggests that this film was centered on the character of Jabba the Hutt, crime lord of Tatooine, who plays an important role in Return of the Jedi.

Goyer adds that the project was in the works in 2019, confirming rumors that already mentioned such a film in 2017.
