Discomfiture in sight for the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus?

While the new iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are set to experience great commercial success, this may not be the case for their two less expensive little brothers.

According to information unearthed by the always very informed Taiwanese analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (via macrumors), the number of reservations for the new iPhone 14 and 14 Plus would be disappointing, unlike that of their big brothers iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max .

iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, sales below iPhone 13 Mini…

So where the Pro and Pro Max specimens will be hard to find when they hit stores (September 16), the 14 and 14 Plus models will be well in stock, a "reflect of disappointing demand" from the part of the public. Kuo even claims that the reservation figures for the 14 and 14 Plus are worse than those of the iPhone SE and iPhone 13 Mini. As a reminder, the Mini version no longer exists due to disappointing sales, and the latest SE has seen lower than expected demand. So not great…

For the iPhone 14 Plus in particular, Kuo explains that "reservation results were significantly lower than estimates, and to conclude that Apple's segmentation strategy for standard models is a failure this year ”.
