The new generation of LG’s AI Home system is designed to coordinate home devices and services according to residents’ different daily routines. The system analyzes schedules, habits, the home environment, and device usage, and uses this data to recommend tailored actions and optimize coordination between equipment and services. The result for the user is spending less time managing their devices.
LG AI Home: the ThinQ Claw text agent takes center stage
At the same time, LG is introducing ThinQ Claw, a new AI agent based on text chat to enrich and expand the AI Home offering. Building on the OpenClaw concept, it works with common apps such as calendars and other connected services, and thus remembers user preferences. It is therefore able to understand intent and context, and coordinate related services and devices. For example, ThinQ Claw can manage household appliances to help the user prepare meals for guests, or control air quality and temperature in their absence. It is even capable of suggesting personalized entertainment and relaxation experiences.
LG AI Home: Homey, energy management and security
The AI Home ecosystem is now optimized by Homey, a home automation platform developed by Athom, a company acquired by LG in 2024. It provides broad interoperability, notably enabling the deployment of HEMS (home energy management system). This system coordinates energy production and consumption in real time by connecting LG appliances to smart meters, solar panels, batteries, and even electric vehicle chargers, with the aim of reducing the electricity bill. The entire ecosystem is protected by the LG Shield security system.
LG ThinQ Pro: AI expands into commercial spaces
Finally, IFA 2026 marks the European debut of LG ThinQ Pro, a version designed to manage installations in collective residential and commercial environments. “ThinQ Claw marks a new milestone in the LG AI Home program, illustrating AI’s ability to understand customers’ intentions and life context in order to offer a more personalized and seamless everyday experience,” said Baek Seung-tae, president of LG Home Appliance Solution Company. “LG will continue to evolve AI Home with innovations that are increasingly intuitive and tailored to customers’ needs”.
