Xgimi Titan Black 4K projectors: Kickstarter success but Max model discontinued

Xgimi has just announced a resounding success for its crowdfunding campaign dedicated to its new Titan Noir 4K projector series, unveiled at CES 2026 in Las Vegas last January (see our CES 26 news > Xgimi Titan Noir Max, a professional projector with cinematic capabilities), raising over $18.8 million. This historic triumph is marred by one major drawback: the flagship model, the Titan Noir Max, will ultimately not have a traditional commercial release, leaving users disappointed by the numerous reviews already published…
Launched in April 2026, this campaign immediately captivated high-end home theater enthusiasts thanks to its promised performance. However, following the late pre-order phase (Late Pledge) scheduled from June 9th to 16th, only two of the three initially presented models will actually reach the mainstream market. The Titan Noir Max, which garnered significant media attention (rightly so given its specifications) and was the subject of numerous reviews, has had its release simply cancelled. The Xgimi Titan Noir Max sacrificed after the crowdfunding campaign. This is a bitter disappointment for those who were expecting a traditional retail release. The Xgimi Titan Noir Max, as the brand indicates, will remain exclusively available to early Kickstarter backers and those who participated in the Late Pledge program. It will not benefit from any further distribution, either online or through specialist retailers. Xgimi has thus chosen to restrict access to the top-of-the-range version, the very one that had been massively showcased to the media in recent months. Xgimi Titan: Powerful specifications for the Pro and Standard versions. To console themselves, enthusiasts will have to turn to the Xgimi Titan Black Pro and Xgimi Titan Black Standard models, which fortunately incorporate many of the innovations of the flagship Max model. These include the proprietary Dual Intelligent Iris technology, capable of delivering a spectacular native contrast ratio of 10,000:1, as well as a brightness of 7,000 lumens. Color accuracy remains central to the promises with a Delta E of less than 0.8 and coverage reaching 110% of the BT.2020 color space. Gamers aren't left out either, as the series supports a refresh rate of up to 240 Hz, guaranteeing perfect fluidity during intense gaming sessions. While the Max version is being discontinued for the general public, the other two models will hit retailers' shelves this summer. Suggested retail prices: • €3,499 for the Xgimi Titan Black • €4,499 for the Xgimi Titan Black Pro
