iPhone beats Samsung for the first time in Europe

Until now the stronghold of Samsung smartphones, Europe was conquered by the iPhone for the first time in the last quarter of 2023.

According to the latest figures from Canalys, the distribution of smartphones in Europe (Russia excluded) was 37.8 million units in the last quarter of 2023, or 3% less compared to the same period the previous year. And for the first time, Apple sold more smartphones than Samsung in the country to take the position of best seller over these three months.

In total, 12.4 million iPhones were distributed in Europe during this quarter, compared to 10, 8 million Samsung mobiles. Compared to the same period in 2022, Apple's distribution increased by 1%, while that of Samsung declined by 12%. In terms of market share in Europe, iPhones are almost at 33%, while Samsung is at 28%. However, if we consider the year 2023 as a whole, Samsung remained the top seller in Europe with 43.7 million units distributed, compared to 34.6 million for the iPhone.
