New Xbox Series X without disk drive this summer?

Microsoft could very soon launch a new, technically improved Xbox Series X without an optical drive.

According to sources from the Exputer site, Microsoft will launch a new console next June or July, more precisely an improved version of the Xbox Series X, with the particularity of not having an optical drive. As a reminder, the Xbox Series S is also without a reader, but has lower technical capabilities than those of the Series X.

New Xbox Series This is not the first time that such a machine has been mentioned, we remember that it was mentioned last school year under the code name “Brooklin” with a cylindrical design. It didn't take long for designer Jermaine Smit from the Concept Creator channel to imagine a 3D representation of the console and its controller (pictured below).

About it was then implied Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 compatibility and a processor engraved in 6 nm for “increased efficiency”. The power of the power supply would drop by 15%. The price is expected to be the same as the original console when it launched. A disk drive could be available as an option.
