Notable mention for Instant Translation, a sort of real-time interpreter which translates, for example, a telephone conversation with a person who does not speak your language (13 languages available, including French). Another feature highlighted, Circle to Find, with which you simply draw a circle around an object or other point of interest on a photo for it to be automatically spotted, recognized, and documented via a Google search. Exclusive for the moment on the Galaxy S24 range, Galaxy AI will arrive later this year on other models from last year, notably the Galaxy S23.

When it comes to photography, Galaxy AI is at work for editing. As already mentioned, you can surround a subject of your choice, isolate it, move it, change its size, or completely remove it from the frame. On the hardware side, the Galaxy S24 has a triple sensor not very different from the S23: 50 Mpxls wide-angle (f/1.8, 24 mm, 1.0 µm photosite, Dual Pixel, PDAF, stabilized) + 12 Mpxls ultra-wide-angle (f/2.2, 13 mm, photosite 1.4 µm, stabilized) + 10 Mpxls telephoto lens (f/2.4, 67 mm, photosite 1.0 µm, PDAF, stabilized, x3 optical zoom). For its part, the selfie camera is 12 Mpxls (Dual Pixel, PDAF, 26 mm and f/2.2 aperture). We also note an LED flash.

For video, Galaxy AI allows a new function that should please: the possibility of transforming a normal video into a slow motion sequence at 120 frames per second. It is artificial intelligence which is responsible for creating intermediate images to simulate slow motion even if you had not planned it at the time of capture.

On the capture side, the smartphone can naturally record 4320p (Ultra HD 8K) resolution video at 24fps or 30fps, 2160p at up to 60fps, 1080p at up to 240fps, and 1080p at 240fps per second. For the selfie camera it's 2160p up to 60fps or 1080p up to 30fps. Audio recording is provided in stereo.
