Apple Watch 9 and Ultra 2: sales ban lifted (temporarily)

The legal procedure gives Apple some respite from the sales ban affecting its last two connected watches.

Reminder of the situation. On December 18, Apple announced the cessation of sales of Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 in the United States in order to respond to injunctions from the International Trade Commission.

Ban on the sale of AppleWatches lifted following Apple's decision to appeal

This federal agency had established that Apple was violating the patents of the medical company Masimo (also owner of Denon and Marantz) concerning blood oxygen sensors. The Apple site stopped selling the watches in question since December 21, and Apple stores from the 24th. But the ban did not last long since it was lifted on December 27. Temporarily lifted, by decision of the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, while Apple's request to continue sales for the duration of the appeal requested by the company is studied.

The International Trade Commission has until January 10 to respond. After this date, it will either be a return to the ban or continued sales of Apple Watches.
