Philips PML9008 The Xtra, 4K Mini LED TV: updated indicative prices

The indicative prices of Philips PML9308 Mini LED TVs are now known.

The Philips PML9008 Mini LED TV series therefore has three references, the Philips 55PML9008 (55'', 140 cm), Philips 65PML9008 (65'', 165 cm) and Philips 75PML9008 (75'', 191 cm). The main difference, at the time of writing, with the PML9308 screens concerns the audio section of the televisions, 2.0 with a power of 40 W compared to 2.1 and 64 watts.

Philips PML9008 TV, P5 processor

For the rest, the Philips PML9008 screens of course benefit from the P5 processor mixed with artificial intelligence for a magnified HDR experience. Precision, Fast Motion Clarity and anti-marking modes, exclusive to Oled screens, are therefore absent. For the rest, we find all the features associated with this formidable chip: new ambient light sensor, two HDMI 2.1 inputs with eARC, VRR, HFR 4K/120, ALLM and FreeSync Premium Pro.

Regarding these Mini LED TVs equipped with 10-bit 120 Hz LCD panels, Philips announces a peak light of 1,000 nits and a Full LED Local Dimming backlighting system. Of course, compatibility with HDR Dolby Vision (limited to 60 Hz), HDR HLG and HDR10+ Adaptive technologies. Namely, the 55'' specimen has 80 independent zones, 144 for the 65'' and 75 inches. Of course, the brilliant Ambilght process, here three sides (top, right and left), is still in place.

Philips PML9008 TV, DTS Play-Fi

Also on the sound side, Philips PML9008 TVs benefit from the DTS Play-Fi function (see our news Philips and DTS Play-Fi Partnership: televisions, sound bars and wireless and multiroom speakers) allowing the configuration of a system Wireless Home Cinema 5.1 or the integration of the TV into a multiroom system.

Precision, a Dolby Atmos decoder and a Dolby Atmos Virtualizer function are also required. On the other hand, no Google TV on Philips The Xtra screens but the “home” Smart TV function. Last clarification, we must also mention for the Phiilps 2023 TV range a new remote control, significantly shortened and rechargeable via USB-C.
