The most surprising thing about this trailer is that it's calm and poised. It puts into perspective the solid evolution of the couple formed by the characters of Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez since the beginning of the franchise. And surprisingly, this Fast X trailer is quite successful!
My son, my fight
The dialogues suggest a dark future for one of the leading characters of the film saga, but which one? Mystery… As a reminder, the official synopsis of the film specifies the plot and its connection to previous episodes: “In Fast & Furious 5 in 2011, Dom and his team brought down the infamous Brazilian drug kingpin, Hernan Reyes, by throwing his empire off a bridge in Rio de Janeiro. Little did they know that his son Dante had watched helplessly and had spent the past twelve years hatching the infernal plan that would exact the ultimate price from Dom. Dante will flush out and track down Dom and his family in the four corners of the world, from Los Angeles to the catacombs of Rome, from Brazil to London and from Antarctica to Portugal. New alliances will be forged and old enemies will reappear. But everything will change when Dom realizes that Dante's main target is none other than his son, barely 8 years old”.
Fast & Furious X, directed by Louis Leterrier, will be released in theaters on May 17, 2023.
