120.5 million Smart households in Europe and the USA

The number of households equipped with connected objects continues to grow in the United States and Europe to reach the figure of 120.5 million.

Connected thermostats, lights, security cameras, smart locks, connected outlets, and connected speakers. These are the most popular connected household objects, making up most Smart Home homes.

Smart Homes 2022, Europe ahead of the United States

According to figures from Berg Insight, the number of Smart homes in Europe and the USA in 2022 reached 120.5 million (compared to 105 million in 2021). In detail, North America sees an installed base of 57.5 million Smart households at the end of 2022, i.e. an equipment rate of 39.2%. Europe, for its part, has 63.1 million Smart households, but a lower penetration rate.

Smart Home Europe and USA, forecasts for 2027

According to the firm's estimates, in 2027, these same households would number 88.1 million in the USA, ie an equipment rate that would rise to 58%. In Europe, Smart households would reach the 112.8 million mark, or 47% of all households.
