The next Star Wars films are (again) changing screenwriters… good luck!

Lucasfilm has just announced that the studio has hired new writers to develop the next films in the Star Wars franchise.

When we know that the two screenwriters who have been replaced are Damon Lindelof (The Leftovers, Watchmen) and Justin Britt-Gibson (The Strain), there is reason to ask some questions… The now ex-tandem had even returned a first version of a scenario last February, before leaving the ship a few days later.

On the other hand, director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Saving Face) is still in the running to direct the next film in the franchise, whose production should not start before February 2024. The release of the film is already scheduled by Disney for December 19, 2025.

Who are the two "happy" elected?

We will therefore have to wait a little longer before knowing the names of the replacements for Lindelof and Britt-Gibson who, on paper, had our full attention. Not the Disney one apparently. After the abandonment of the Star Wars trilogy by the showrunners of Game of Thrones (David Benioff and DB Weiss) and that of the duo Lindelof / Britt-Gibson, we say to ourselves that the authors of series and the Star Wars franchise are definitely not doing good household.
