The all-in-one audio system Avaton by Sonoro is the direct descendant of the formidable Sonoro Meisterstuck Gen2 (see our news Sonoro Meisterstück Gen2, all-in-one Hi-Fi Deutsche Qualität), modulo the presence of the audio CD player and the acoustic calibration for owners of an iPhone (from 6).
Sonoro Avaton, main specifications££££
For the rest, we find the Sonoro Avaton is very largely capable of happily replacing the classic mini [abc]Hi-Fi[/abc] system in the home: living room, bedroom, office, kitchen... Compared to the latter, the Sonoro Avento offers unparalleled transport ergonomics. By moving the case, you take the speakers with you. And if the [abc]audio CD[/abc] player is no longer part of the game, the Sonoro Avento is rich in direct access to music streaming platforms (Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Napster, Amazon Music HD, Qobuz Connect, Deezer), in terms of connectivity for [abc]streaming[/abc] from a wireless source -[abc]AirPlay[/abc], [abc]Chromecast (integrated)[/abc], [abc]UPnP[/abc] audio gateway ([abc]DLNA[/abc])- through the [abc]Wi-Fi[/abc] 6 and [abc]Bluetooth[/abc] bidirectional [abc]Auracast[/abc] compatible protocols. In terms of sound sources, we should also mention [abc]web radios[/abc] and the presence of an FM/[abc]DAB+[/abc] with 99 station memories, plus direct access to podcasts. Finally, navigation is done directly on the device via its quick access keys, and remotely with the supplied remote control, or via the Sonoro audio application. Noteworthy are the 3D Sound, Dynamic Bass and a treble/bass equalizer functions.
Sonoro Avaton, acoustic package££££
Heavily inspired by the Meisterstück Gen2, the Sonoro Avaton features an elegant aluminum front, precisely laser-cut. Likewise, in terms of acoustics, the [abc]2.1[/abc] configuration is still in place with a powerful subwoofer and four high-performance speakers, combined with the Dynamic Bass function which optimizes bass reproduction: two 1.9 cm [abc]tweeters[/abc], two 7.62 cm [abc]midrange[/abc] and a 13.33 cm [abc]woofer[/abc], each powered by a Class D amplifier for a total power output of 70 W (2 x 10 W for the tweeters, 2 x 30 W for the midrange + 60 W for the woofer). All managed by a latest-generation [abc]DSP[/abc].
Sonoro Avaton, the connectivity££££
But the Sonoro Avento also offers a wide range of connectivity, including some welcome new features. The first comes in the form of an [abc]HDMI[/abc] connector with the [abc]ARC[/abc] function for recovering the sound from the TV with [abc]OTT[/abc] applications such as Netflix, Apple TV+, Disney+, Prime Video, etc. We then note the addition of a [abc]USB[/abc]-C port (in addition to the USB-A example) and a [abc]coaxial[/abc] input (in addition to an [abc]optical[/abc]). For the rest, there is also a stereo [abc]RCA[/abc] input (gold-plated), a 3.5 mm mini-jack auxiliary input, an [abc]Ethernet[/abc] port and a headphone jack on the front.
Sonoro Avaton, ergonomics££££
The Sonore Avento can be easily controlled. Via the transport buttons directly on the housing as already mentioned, the supplied remote control or from the free Sonoro Audio app. All this is displayed on the [abc]LCD[/abc] color display on the front (10.2 cm diagonal with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels) or directly on a smartphone/tablet. Note the integration into compatible Smart Home environments, including Busch-Jaeger, Jung and Gira systems. This beautiful baby of 8 kilos (dimensions of 262 mm x 510 mm x 140 mm)
The workmanship is excellent, with a hand-polished wooden case and a laser-cut aluminum front panel made from a single piece. Splendid. Several colors are available: matte graphite/silver, matte black/black, matte white/silver. Recommended price: 1,199 euros. A version with a silver front panel will be available in early November 2025.
