The Devil's Prey: Female Exorcism in 4K on March 2

The horror thriller The Devil's Prey, led by Jacqueline Byers, will be released in 4K UHD on March 2, 2023 by Metropolitan Film & Video. The film will also be released on the same date in Blu-Ray and DVD format.

As cases of demonic possession soar, the Vatican is secretly reopening its exorcism schools. Although the rite of exorcism is in principle forbidden to women, Father Quinn (Colin Salmon) decides to train a talented young nun, Sister Ann (Jacqueline Byers). At the bedside of a child (Posy Taylor) tormented by an evil spirit, Ann thinks she recognizes the demon who once persecuted and drove her own mother to madness.

A real specialist

The horror thriller The Devil's Prey is directed by Daniel Stamm, who has already experienced in the genre with The Last Exorcism and a few episodes of the Scream series. In the casting, led by “rookie” Jacqueline Byers (Salvation series), Colin Salmon (Mortal Engines) and Christian Navarro (13 Reasons Why). Also on the bill, some talented ghosts such as Virginia Madsen (Sideways, Candyman) and Ben Cross (Chariots of Fire, Banshee).

Mixed reception but…

Welcomed fairly lukewarm by French critics who were not convinced by Jacqueline Byers, The Devil's Prey tumbles heavily on the aggregator Rotten Tomatoes with an unenviable satisfaction rate of 16%. Despite everything, Le long leads an honorable international career with a worldwide box office exceeding 38 million dollars.

The bonuses that will support this 4K Home Cinema release on March 2 have not yet been announced.
