Apple augmented reality headset, postponed to the end of 2022, or even more?

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has published some details on the expected arrival of Apple in a new segment, that of augmented reality / mixed reality.

While predicting an arrival in the second quarter of 2022 for Apple's augmented reality / mixed reality (AR / RM) headset, Taiwanese analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is now counting on production starting at the end of 2022 and one marketing in stride. The information corroborates the estimates published recently by our Taiwanese colleague DigiTimes.

Ming-Chi Kuo has the floor

"The RA / RM headset requires more requirements than a smartphone in terms of industrial design, because wearing comfort involves so many details," explains Kuo. In fact, we believe Apple continues to test the best solutions. In addition, this headset should be much more complete than a simple device like the PS VR for example. The headset will allow a wide range of applications - productivity, social network, communication, multimedia, video games… - and will replace in the long term certain electronic devices equipped with a screen ”, continues Kuo. Among the headphone manufacturers, Apple is the most capable of developing and promoting various applications.

Price over $ 2,000?

According to the latest rumors, this helmet will be positioned as a high-end product integrating a camera and an optical laser sensor. It should weigh a little over 100g and take advantage of a processor engraved in 5 nanometers. It will need to be connected to an iPhone via Bluetooth to work, and its chassis will be made of a light and strong magnesium alloy. Its price should be displayed above $ 2,000. Source: Apple Insider
