“Real” portable Xbox console canceled, but why?

Why did Microsoft lend its name to a third-party machine, the ROG Xbox Ally, rather than releasing its own portable Xbox?

As we know, the ROG Xbox Ally portable console is not a "real" Xbox portable console, unlike the Xbox consoles, since it is produced by a third-party manufacturer.

According to the leaker KeplerL2 on the Neogaf forum, generally known for the reliability of its sources, Microsoft did not launch its own portable Xbox console because its processor supplier -AMD- would have only started production at a rate of 10 million units ordered.

And when we know that this type of machine does not sell at such a level (around 5 million for the Steam Deck), it seems normal that Microsoft did not want to work with AMD, thus turning to the alternative solution that we know. There's a slight twist, however, as journalist Jez Corden, who is also very familiar with the workings of Microsoft, responded to these allegations with a simple, "That's absolutely not true." So let's assume the mystery remains.
