Tom Cruise signs new deal with Warner, new franchise in sight

After Universal and Paramount with whom he signed a “first look” deal, Tom Cruise is signing on with Warner.

Could this be a new sign of merger between Warner and Paramount? In any case, the spearhead of Paramount, Tom Cruise, has just signed a new partnership agreement with Warner Bros. Pictures to develop and produce theatrical films with Warner Bros. Discovery. These would be original productions and franchises starring Tom Cruise.

Tom Cruise on all fronts, literally

Tom Cruise's production company would even have the right to its offices in the Warner Bros. premises. Discovery in Burbank, with the deal described by the studio as a “strategic partnership.” Warner Bros. executives Pictures, Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy, said in a statement: “We are delighted to work with Tom, an absolute legend in the film industry. Our vision, since day one, has been to rebuild this iconic studio so that it can reach the greatest heights. And to conclude: Today, this is becoming a reality and we are reaching our goal. We couldn't be more excited to welcome Tom back to Warner Bros. and we look forward to bringing his genius to life on screen in the years to come."

Cruise's first appearance in a Warner Bros. film was Risky Business in 1983, and many other films followed: Interview with the Vampire, Magnolia, Rock Forever and Eyes Wide Shut. His last Warner-labeled film was Live, Die, Start Again (Edge of Tomorrow, pictured below) ten years ago. Source: Variety
