News about Cliffhanger 2 starring Stallone… hang in there

If it has been certain since last May that Sylvester Stallone will reprise his emblematic role as a mountaineer in the Cliffhanger sequel, we now know who will direct it.

Surprise, French director Jean-François Richet (Assault on Precinct 13 from 2005) therefore replaces Ric Roman Waugh (The Fall of the President, Greenland), the director anticipated from the beginning.

Cliffhanger 2: snow falls in summer ?

The synopsis specifies that: “Gabe (Sylvester Stallone) now lives in the Dolomites where he runs a high mountain refuge. When Gabe and a client are taken hostage during an adventurous weekend, his daughter must use all her climbing skills to try to rescue her father from the kidnappers' clutches.

The original Cliffanger film directed by Renny Harlin in 1993 was one of the biggest successes of Stallone's career, grossing no less than $255 million at the box office. Filming of this direct sequel is planned for this summer in Europe.
