What if the iPod came out? (video)

Eclipsed then replaced by the iPhone, Apple's iPod music player has nevertheless marked the history of the hi-tech market.

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the iPod (released in 2001), designer Andrea Copellino wondered what the famous music player could look like if it came out today. The result is a 3D model that you can admire below, keeping the original shape but with some modern subtleties.

iPod concept based on iPhone 12

We can see that it is inspired by the lines of the iPhone 12, with flat edges and a stainless steel frame. The clickable control wheel is still there, but recovers the nicer feel of the Apple TV remote. The edges of the screen are thinner, the interface redesigned, and -surprise- the 3.5 mm mini-jack audio jack is missing, just to force you to use AirPods. The respected Apple spirit, even in a fictitious product.
