An exclusive George Michael live performance in theaters, our review

Nearly forty years after being filmed, George Michael’s Faith Tour is finally coming to the big screen. Captured on May 30 and 31, 1988 at the POPB, now the Accor Arena, the concert had until now never had an official release, neither on video nor on CD. The footage was finally dug up and edited by Andy Morahan and David Austin for this unreleased live performance titled George Michael: the Faith Tour, due in theaters on November 11, 2026.

At the time, George Michael had just released Faith, his first solo album, and was stacking up hits with insolent ease. On stage, he gave it his all, between ultra-sexualized poses, choreographies by Paula Abdul, omnipresent synths and an audience whipped into a frenzy.

A very Eighties time capsule, reminding us how undeniable George Michael’s voice and presence were. And everything contemporary pop still owes him.
