Jumanji: welcome to our world, that looks promising

Sony Pictures has just unveiled the second trailer for Jumanji: Welcome to our world, scheduled to hit French theaters next December 23.

A funny, spirited, and thoroughly fast-paced trailer that gets back to the best excesses of the genre while unashamedly poking fun at its codes. The actors seem to be having a real blast taking part in this joyous outpouring of utter absurdity.

Bébêtes show

Yes, all of this does look frankly silly, but the film seems to fully embrace that. And judging by these first images, the result looks thoroughly entertaining. Above all, the special effects show a level of craftsmanship that, these days, is far from as common as one might think. In short, a pleasant surprise that still needs to be confirmed over the length of a feature film.

This new installment marks the third and final adventure in the franchise relaunched in 2017 with Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, then continued in 2019 with Jumanji: The Next Level. Sony Pictures has confirmed that this will be the final chapter of this trilogy.

A little touch of the original Jumanji

In this new installment, the players have managed to escape the unpredictable jungles of Jumanji. But this time, the rules have changed: the game breaks free of its console and bursts into the real world, sowing chaos in its wake. A twist that also returns to the premise of the original 1995 film, led by Robin Williams.

The star quartet made up of Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan is back in action, as are the performers of their real-world characters, Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, Morgan Turner, and Ser'Darius Blain. Danny DeVito, Nick Jonas, Awkwafina, Marin Hinkle, Bebe Neuwirth, Lamorne Morris, and Rhys Darby are also back.

Jumanji: Welcome to Our World, France ahead of the U.S. release

New faces join this already particularly large cast, including Burn Gorman, Brittany O'Grady, Tony Curran, Elena Sanchez, Dan Hildebrand, and Jack Jewkes. Jake Kasdan, director of the two previous films, is back in charge and co-writes the screenplay with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg.

Jumanji: Welcome to Our World will be released in French cinemas on December 23, 2026, two days before its U.S. release, set for Christmas Day.
