Apple: The Disney acquisition will not happen, confirms Bob Iger

Despite persistent rumors and regular Wall Street speculation, the Cupertino-based company will not be acquiring the entertainment giant. In a recent interview, Disney's former CEO, Bob Iger, put an end to the financial speculation by confirming that while internal discussions had indeed taken place in the past, the iPhone maker never showed any real interest in a merger of this magnitude.
In a recent interview with the Financial Times, Bob Iger, the former CEO of Disney, discussed alleged but never completed transactions, such as Apple's acquisition of Disney, which has been mentioned many times in recent years by financial experts. "We talked about it internally and had some discussions with Apple about it, but it never came to fruition," Iger said. "Apple simply didn't show much interest." These rumors stem from the strong connection between Steve Jobs, Apple's founder, and the Disney group, to which he sold Pixar, which he helped create. Jobs remained the majority shareholder at Pixar and became a member of Disney's board of directors at that time. The shadow of Steve Jobs looms large over finance. A close friend of Steve Jobs, Bob Iger, wrote in his 2019 memoirs: "I believe that if Steve were still alive, we would have combined our companies, or at least discussed the possibility very seriously," enough to fuel the fantasies of financial specialists.
