Microsoft denies GTA VI pre-order figures

A spokesperson for Microsoft's Xbox division has denied claims that pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 version of Grand Theft Auto VI would outsell those of the Xbox Series X/S version by a ratio of 8 to 1.
IGN had relayed the information based on its own affiliate link data. This interpretation was immediately disputed by Xbox to Windows Central, which pointed out that these figures could not represent the entire market. "This does not represent pre-order data. We have recorded record orders. People should wait for real data and not rely on clicks on affiliate links." In a rather unusual move, PlayStation also branded its console interfaces and mobile app this week with the game's colors to mark the launch of pre-orders, which opened on Thursday. Rockstar Games, for its part, stated that the title "runs better on PS5." Sony and Microsoft: The Great Grand Theft Auto VI Battle. It's safe to say that the console war between Sony and Microsoft is well and truly back on. It remains to be seen who will win the battle for the most coveted game of the century. We can undoubtedly expect a fierce clash of numbers and egos between the two giants, with Rockstar acting as the ultimate arbiter. According to analysts, the decision to release the game without a disc version should not have a significant impact on sales. Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to be available everywhere starting November 19th.
