iPhone stolen, iPhone immediately locked

Apple is currently developing a new security feature to combat snatch theft. Designed to react instantly, the iPhone will be able to automatically lock itself as soon as it detects that it has been violently snatched from its user's hands, thus securing access to all their personal data.
According to lines of code seen by 9to5Mac, Apple is actively working on a snatch-and-grab detection feature that automatically locks your iPhone if it's quickly taken from you. When an iPhone is stolen discreetly while still locked, the thief will have a hard time exploiting it without the passcode. But if they grab an unlocked device, freshly stolen from a user for example, it will be easier for them to access certain data and erase its contents. To avoid this problem, this new feature under development uses the device's gyroscope and accelerometer to detect if it has been violently grabbed. The iPhone then locks immediately and activates the existing "Device Theft Protection" feature, which makes accessing sensitive data even more difficult.
