The iconic Star Wars game character, Cal Kestis, could return in live-action

Cameron Monaghan is expected to reprise his role as Cal Kestis, the hero of the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor games, in one form or another. More than 40 million players have become attached to this Force-sensitive character, first introduced in the 2019 game and then in its 2023 sequel. Having become one of the most popular figures in the video game side of the saga, Cal Kestis has long fueled the fantasies of fans, who dream of seeing him appear in live-action, in a Star Wars series or film.
So far, nothing concrete has been officially announced. The most persistent rumors date back to last year, when several sources claimed that Lucasfilm finally had "solid plans" to integrate Cal into a live-action Star Wars project, without yet deciding which one. A Lucasfilm representative reignites the speculation. When questioned by GameRant during a discussion about Disneyland attractions, a Lucasfilm representative recently reignited the speculation: "Never say never. We have his lightsaber in the park. And more stories about Cal are coming." The book *Star Wars Secrets of the Jedi: The Chronicles of Luke Skywalker* also suggests that the character survived into the New Republic era. Cameron Monaghan is now 32 years old, while Cal Kestis is 18 and 23 years old respectively in the two games. At the time of The Mandalorian, if the Jedi were still alive, he would be approaching forty. Cal Kestis isn't done keeping you entertained! Meanwhile, a third installment in the Jedi video game series is currently in production. It should conclude the interactive trilogy dedicated to the character. This will certainly feed the fanbase and, for once, shouldn't put Disney off too much. Unlike the heroes of the last trilogy, whose merchandise never really sparked the expected frenzy, Cal Kestis already has real market value, lightsaber included. Minimal risk, then. Belt, suspenders, and parachute ("CBP"): in Hollywood, the phrase has almost become an industry slogan.
