The iPhone Ultra, the first foldable iPhone, is indeed expected to arrive in September.

Delayed until December? Delayed until 2027? Arriving in the fall? The release date of the first foldable iPhone keeps jumping from one point to another on the calendar.
The final stages of development for the iPhone Ultra, Apple's first-ever foldable model, are finally progressing according to schedule, and the device is still expected to arrive in September 2026, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. Mark Gurman (Bloomberg) contradicts reports of a delay. This is according to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, contradicting previous rumors that had the iPhone Ultra pushed back to December of this year, or even 2027. The Japanese media outlet Nikkei cited problems in the current test production phase to justify a release delayed until next year. But Mark Gurman says these estimates are "off the mark." Problems have indeed been detected, but they are not critical enough to disrupt the overall timeline. Limited availability expected for the first foldable iPhone. Even if the iPhone Ultra arrives on time, its availability could be limited. The manufacturing complexity of a foldable model, a first for Apple, implies lower volumes than those of traditional iPhones, whose production chain has been perfectly honed for years. Finally, Mark Gurman adds that even though Apple's current plan is to release the iPhone Ultra at the same time as the iPhone 18 Pro/Pro Max, the company reserves the right to change its strategy before the fall.
