iPhone Ultra, ready to crush the competition?

Apple is expected to enter the foldable smartphone market this year, a category that the Cupertino company believes it can immediately dominate.
According to the Chinese "leaker" Instant Digital, Samsung Display will be ready next May to launch mass production of the foldable screens for Apple's very first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Ultra. Apple, the next leader in the foldable smartphone market? Moreover, the Korean media outlet Ajunews reveals that Apple has increased its screen order to 20 million units, instead of the previously estimated 13 to 15 million, a sign that the company is confident it will sell a large number. This number is even higher than that of its competitors, who have been established in the market for years. Indeed, the market leader in foldable smartphones, Samsung, sold just over 5 million of its Galaxy Fold devices in 2025 and estimates it can sell 7 million in 2026, roughly three times less than Apple's ambitions for its very first device.
