To begin celebrating its 50th anniversary on April 1st, Apple will be holding events around the world throughout March.
On April 1, 1976, Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne founded Apple. And if you can count as well as we do, next April 1st will mark the company's fiftieth anniversary—a significant milestone for this company that has truly changed the world on several occasions. How will this anniversary be celebrated? Through events organized around the world throughout March, beginning with a surprise concert by Alicia Keys on March 13 at the Apple Store in New York, attended by CEO Tim Cook himself and other Apple executives, Tim Cook thanked millions of people. "While Apple is known for looking more to the future than the past, this milestone will nonetheless be an opportunity for us to reflect on the journey so far, to celebrate the people and communities who, along with us, have thought differently, and to honor the values that continue to guide our work," the company said in a press release. It added that these celebrations would highlight "the creativity, innovation, and impact that people around the world have made possible through Apple technology." Apple CEO Tim Cook also shared a few words in a letter to the public, stating, among other things, "At Apple, we look more to the future than to the past. But we couldn't mark this milestone without thanking the millions of people who make our company what it is today."
