After the teaser, the Super Bowl commercial, and a making-of documentary, Universal Pictures has finally released the full trailer for Disclosure Day, Steven Spielberg's film about UFOs.
And upon seeing these images, one thing is immediately clear: once again, Spielberg seems to remind everyone why he remains the boss. In barely two minutes and thirty-eight seconds, the filmmaker deploys more direction, more scope, more cinematic flair than many Hollywood productions of the past year. That's saying something. Disclosure Day: a synthesis of Steven Spielberg's films… The music, the framing, the lighting, the actors, the atmosphere: everything intrigues, fascinates, and immediately captures the viewer's attention. There's something enigmatic, strange, and profoundly human about it. At times, there are echoes of M. Night Shyamalan's Signs, but above all, the signature style of the director of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T., War of the Worlds, and Minority Report. Spielberg knows what he's doing, and this new trailer confirms it with undeniable clarity. The cast looks incredible, the visuals are stunning, the music is already breathtaking. Frankly, it's pretty wild. Disclosure Day, the synopsis and cast: The official synopsis states: "If you discovered we're not alone, if someone showed it to you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We're approaching... Disclosure Day." Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, and Wyatt Russell lead the cast of this film, which marks Spielberg's directorial debut since The Fabelmans in 2022. Disclosure Day, with John Williams still at the helm; it's worth noting that David Koepp wrote the screenplay from a story by Spielberg, while Janusz Kamiński was the cinematographer and John Williams composed the music. The project also marks Spielberg's return to the big summer blockbuster, his last foray into the genre being Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in 2008. Produced by Kristie Macosko Krieger, Disclosure Day will be released in theaters on June 10, 2026 in France and on June 12, 2026 in the United States.
