07.01.2026 • 12h25
Shortly after Dolby Laboratories announced the integration of Dolby Vision 2 HDR technology into certain 2026 televisions from the Hisense, Philips, and TCL brands (see our CES 26 news > Dolby Vision 2 HDR on 2026 Hisense UR9/UR8/UX, TCL X/C series, Philips OLED811/911/951 TVs), the latter confirmed the information and provided more details on the models concerned.
Philips TV has surprised everyone by becoming the first manufacturer to announce support for Dolby Vision 2 HDR on its 2026 televisions. This is a major announcement, as Dolby's new HDR standard is still in its early stages and had not yet been confirmed by any OLED TV manufacturer. But that's not all… HDR Dolby Vision 2, list of compatible Philips OLED and Mini LED TVs. According to a press release from TP Vision, owner of the Philips brand, published less than an hour ago, the first models compatible with Dolby Vision 2 HDR will be the Philips OLED811, followed by the OLED851, OLED911, and OLED951 series. Philips also specifies that several premium Mini LED models will also be included, notably the PUS9001. To be precise, all these displays will be equipped with the new MediaTek Pentonic 800 processor combined with MiraVision Pro AI features, the first processor to natively integrate Dolby Vision 2 HDR. Dolby Vision 2 HDR: the new generation of HDR. As a reminder, Dolby Vision 2 introduces a completely redesigned image engine, based on ten years of feedback from creators (primarily directors and cinematographers). The goal? Offering greater artistic freedom and a more faithful reproduction of their intentions on modern TVs, brighter and more colorful than ever. Two levels will be offered: • HDR Dolby Vision 2: overall improvement in image quality, advanced Tone Mapping, better ambient light management • HDR Dolby Vision 2 Max: premium version fully exploiting the capabilities of high-end panels. Philips also confirms the integration of Content Intelligence, a set of adaptive optimizations including Precision Black, Light Sense 2, as well as specific settings for sports and gaming. HDR Dolby Vision 2: a strategic step for Philips. With this announcement, Philips becomes the first OLED manufacturer to officially commit to HDR Dolby Vision 2, while several competitors remain cautious about the adoption timeline. This is a way for the brand to strengthen its positioning on picture quality and prepare its 2026 ranges for the next evolution of HDR. Annette Van Dijk, Marketing Director of TP Vision, explains: “Philips TV has a long and very successful collaboration with Dolby, and we are extremely proud to bring the ultimate benchmark in TV picture quality to our latest televisions by combining Dolby technology with the power of our unique P5 AI processing engine. We are delighted that Philips TV is the first TV brand to announce the availability of Dolby Vision 2 on OLED TVs, and that the combination of our technologies continues to push picture quality performance to new and previously unattainable levels.” Arkin Kol, Vice President of Commercial Partnerships Europe at Dolby Laboratories, says, “Dolby Vision 2 marks a major leap forward in picture innovation. We’ve reimagined the Dolby picture experience from the creator’s vision to the living room, giving key partners like Philips TV powerful new capabilities to deliver spectacular picture quality. We can’t wait to see consumers rediscover their favorite content enhanced by Dolby Vision 2.” To stay up-to-date with our publications and get immediate access to the latest news from brands and manufacturers presented at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, click on the following link: CES 2026, discover all the new products live from Las Vegas
