Depeche Mode concert film and live performance: M, we love it!

Captured during the emotional Memento Mori tour, which thrilled 3 million fans across 112 concerts, the film Depeche Mode: M shows the legendary British band performing three sold-out shows in front of 200,000 fans in Mexico City. Directed by Fernando Frias, the film was released last night in 2,500 cinemas worldwide. It is expected—and already available for pre-order—on December 5th on Blu-ray and DVD (no 4K), in addition to the classic live album, also directed by Fernando Frias.
Directed by Mexican filmmaker Fernando Frías (I'm No Longer Here), Depeche Mode: M is much more than a simple music film. Captured during three sold-out concerts at Mexico City's Foro Sol Stadium during the 2023 Memento Mori world tour, the project blends superbly filmed and edited stage footage, music video-style moments, fleeting images of fans, and cinematic sequences exploring the very particular relationship Mexicans have with death—a central theme of their latest album, released shortly after the death of Andrew Fletcher, a founding member of Depeche Mode. "M for Mode, Memento Mori." The result is a hybrid, poetic, and sensory work, where stage images merge with a reflection on spirituality, memory, and the unifying power of music. The very essence of Depeche Mode, the immense new wave band that has constantly reinvented itself for over 45 years. Depeche Mode, a vibrant and aesthetic experience. The Depeche Mode: M box set includes 2 DVDs or Blu-rays + 2 CDs, containing the complete Mexico City concert, the full Depeche Mode: M concert film shown in theaters yesterday, and the double live album with over 2 hours of music, enriched with four unreleased tracks from the Memento Mori album sessions. These rare tracks, recorded in 2023, will also be available on the 4 LP vinyl edition and the 2 CD version. The first unreleased track, "In the End," is already available for streaming. As if further proof were needed that the shy kids from Basildon with their delightful synthpop singles have become stage animals who continue to fill stadiums in front of masses of devoted fans (the famous Devotees). A symbiotic relationship at the heart of this new film, Depeche Mode: M.
