TCL X11L, the superiority of white backlighting over RGB?££££ The only explanation is that TCL considers its latest generation of Mini LED backlighting called SQD Mini LED (for Super Quantum Dots Mini LED) to be more efficient than Mini RGB LEDs. And TCL continues with technical arguments in the form of illustrations on a very large screen to demonstrate its claims. The central point of the TCL demonstration? The use of RGB LEDs poses a series of problems when it comes to mixing the three primary colors. The manufacturer is therefore returning to the use of white LEDs combined with Quantum Dots technology with a high concentration of "pure colors." With a high density of nanocrystals, TCL announces a purity of 95% for the three primary colors, without the need for RGB LEDs. An advantage linked to this backlighting system structure is an extremely reduced screen thickness, no more than 2 cm (OD 30 on the menu) using the lenses and components used on Mini LED RGB specimens.
According to TCL, the use of RGB triplets goes hand in hand with an increase in the distance between the LEDs and the panel in order to limit color bleeding, which is not the case with white LEDs. For clarification, the LCD panel of the X11L diffusers is a WHVA Pro type, like that of the Mini LED RGB series.
