AirPods Pro 3, they’re coming…

The third generation of Apple's AirPods Pro earbuds is expected to arrive this year, and could benefit from health features previously reserved for smartwatches and wristbands.

A new clue confirms what many already suspected: the successors to the Apple AirPods 3 earbuds are coming this year.

AirPods Pro 3 with heart rate tracking and a new design in September? ££££

The information comes to us from coder Aaron Perris on X who discovered a new line of text in one of Apple's latest software updates. The reference "AirPods Pro 2nd generation" is thus replaced by "AirPods Pro 2 or later", strongly suggesting that the arrival of a new version is in the making.

As a reminder, a heart rate measurement feature could be integrated into this third generation of earbuds. Knowing that it is already available on the Powerbeats Pro 2 (owned by Apple), its arrival on the AirPods Pro 3 is almost certain. Other expected new features include a new H3 chip, improved noise cancellation, and a redesigned design.

If we look at releases from previous years, these new earbuds are expected to launch next September alongside the iPhone 17.
