Samsung Galaxy Watch, return to the square cut?

After ten years of circular dials, Samsung could soon return to the square shape originally worn by its first connected watches.

According to indiscretions collected by the SamMobile site, Samsung is seriously considering changing the shape of its Galaxy Watch, abandoning the circular dial for a square silhouette.

As a reminder, the very first Samsung Galaxy Gear watches (pictured below) launched in 2013 were then equipped with a square dial, with a 1.6'' Super Amoled screen. It was from the 2015 Galaxy Gear S2 that Samsung switched to the round shape, retained since then on all of the manufacturer's smartwatches. If the idea is considered with enthusiasm internally, we do not yet know if it will come to fruition this year with the Galaxy Watch 7, or next year, or perhaps not even at all.
