This is not the first time that rumors have circulated about a new HomePod in development at Apple, with the particularity of integrating a screen. A rumor corroborated this time by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg who claims that the device will be released in 2025 at the earliest.

This speaker would be equipped with an “iPad-style screen” and Apple has already started to contact its component suppliers in Asia to work on the project. Gurman reveals in passing that Apple would also have explored another type of device combining Apple TV, HomePod and FaceTime camera, as well as iPad-style connected screens that can be attached to the wall. No certainty as to the commercial release of these projects, Gurman specifying that Apple has remained “undecided” for years regarding its ideas for gadgets for the connected home.
